My name is Abhishek Goindi, and I’m a poker player.

I fell in love with this beautiful game 10 years ago. At first, there was a thrill of outwitting other players sitting across a table. And then, it was the science of poker: learning about probabilities, game theory, all the the numbers. Finally, it was the art of poker: sometimes a hand you played just feels like a masterpiece, like a Rahman song or a Picasso painting.
That’s poker. And then, there’s poker in India.

Travelling across the country playing poker made me rich — not in terms of money, but in terms of all the friends I made. That’s the good bit about playing poker in India. But there’s a frustrating side to it also.
Live poker is illegal in most of India, because of which there isn’t an organised industry around it. For that reason, most live games are basically underground games. Many are run by fly-by-night operators who don’t really care about the long-term health of the game.

The rake is usually too high, because operators want to make a quick buck and players don’t have a choice. This destroys players’ bankrolls. They may have an edge big enough to beat the game, but I’ve seen games where no one’s edge is big enough to beat the rake. This is terrible for the game.

Everyone seems to be out to make a fast buck, and no one wants to nurture the ecosystem. Operators make money in the short term; players lose in the long run. And many players don’t even realise that they are slowly bleeding away. I figured it out when I went abroad to play: first the Asian circuit, and then Vegas.
I played APTs and APPTs in Macau, Manila and Cebu, and was blown away by how well players are treated. The rake is a fraction of what it is in India, and players are made to treated like royalty: like shers, not like bakras. I went to Vegas to play the World Series of Poker, and was stunned by the professionalism.

Both Asia and America are mature poker markets. In the early days of poker there, they too had their share of shady operators and business practices. But today they host mature ecosystems with the interests of players at the heart of it. After experiencing that, imagine how I felt when I came back to India and saw the scene here. I decided that enough was enough. Be the change you want to see.

GoPoker.in is the site that I always hoped I could play on — but it didn’t exist in India. So I put together a team of renowned pros from across the world to design a site that would be a player’s dream. We have hired cutting-edge technologists who have build a site that features the best gameplay. Our user-interface is intuitive and easy-to-use. Our software is state-of-the-art, with the latest RNG, and various measures in place to detect collusion and catch bots. We offer the best value for money of all the Indian sites. GoPoker.in is legit, legal, and payouts will be timely and hassle-free.

But the most important thing about GoPoker.in is that it is a player’s site, set up by one of you. There will never be a time when you complain about a problem on online forums and no one responds. I will be personally available to respond to any problems you have, and personally accountable. As a player, when I used to put my hard-earned money on an online site to play, it was a big deal for me. And as an operator today, when you put your trust in Go Poker, it is a big deal for me. I won’t let you down.

GoPoker.in will offer you the best gameplay. GoPoker.in will charge low rake with high rakeback, and throw in so many goodies that we will provide by far the best value for money of all the local sites. Go Poker will give you prompt service.

Most of all, GoPoker.in is a site by the players, for the players, of the players. My name is Abhishek Goindi, and I’m a poker player like you. I know what it takes.
